Anybody any idea how to start a Yamaha when there is a 703 7-pin adapter fitted and no controls?

I have located the fuse box with the various colour cables. The 703 adaptor is not fitted to a wire harness - I haven't decided if I want to bother buying one yet or not, I just want to start the engine. I've connected the motor up to the battery, put her in neutral and put fuel in her.

PS. I have a makeshift control panel with loads of switches bough from an electronics shop. I'm thinking of robbing some of the switches out of there and connecting them right onto the engine but I don't know what cables to connect. Also not sure how to uninstall 703 adapter. Any advice on any of this would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

I have not done it to a 4 stroke before, but I believe if like a 2 stroke you need to set up a way to shut it down 1st as once it starts you need a way to shut it down (sometimes quickly).

Then just find the start relay and jump it

I have found this image on the internet of the wiring colours and I am going to try to connect some up.

Edit: the latest is I've connected the red and brown and seen some movement from the engine but not enough life in battery to get it going. What do I do? I have some rope...

I've now connected it to a stronger battery and it spins properly but it doesn't get going. Are there other wires that I need to connect? I've been connecting brown to red and completely removed the wire harness. Wires that aren't connected are a yellow with red stripe and a pink. Not sure what they do. Is the engine switched on?

Have checked to see if there is spark at the plugs when turning over?

Have you done something with the white wire?
white to ground or the black wire will keep spark from plugs

I assume the white is disconnected fine but will check in the morning.

I connected the yellow with red stripe wire to the red whilst I was connecting the red to the brown which was a total mistake that hopefully won't have done any damage. I was confused over the yellow wire issue but now see that provides +ve while the engine is switched on.

Am I right that in order to activate the choke I need to cross the red and blue while I have the red and brown crossed? Once I've done this, then the engine should start, assuming there is no fault? Is there anything the red wire needs to be connected to whilst the engine is meant to be running?
