Hello I will be reinstalling my oil injection system back on my outboard and I was wondering if the system has to be bled or primed before starting the engine.

A Yamaha Service manual for your motor will have a procedure to bleed air out, make sure you run it on premix while running and bleeding the system until you are positive oil is getting where it needs to be and at the proper rate

its a self bleeding system.
however you will need to mark the tank and visually verify oil is being consumed for the next ten gallons of premix.
once oil consumption is verified you can switch back to gasoline.
