Hi everyone, newbie here. Just bought a 30hp mariner/yamaha, it was set up on controls but also had a tiller handle reattached. I purchased a push start button to install, it comes with simple black, red wires coming out of it, the control (i think 7pin) wire coming into the motor has a wack of wires in it, what do I need to watch out for when removing that remote start wire? Can I just disconnect all of the wires? Then hook the push start to the leads that go to the starter? errrrrr.... or should I take it to a qualified mechanic. thx!

Not sure what you are trying to do but if just want to connect a remote start switch then connect one side of switch to 12 positive wire and other side to brown wire on starter solenoid.

Clarifying
Just trying to clarify. The engine had been set up as a remote start n steer. Its back to a tiller handle and i want to install push button on the motor. I was wondering how and how difficult it is to disconnect the cable and wires comin in from the remote start. The yamaha push button part only has two wires on it but there are several wires hooked up to different parts of the motor from the remote cable. Can i just disconnect them all and hook up the push button?
