I have just helped a friend with a 130 Yamaha who had the same problem I did with very low water pressure.
I'm going to repeat the solution that I put in a previous thread.
The tell-tail spout on the side of the engine was barely squirting any water. I took the motor to a ‘Yamaha’ mechanic, and after a complete new water pump, impeller etc, costing a whole bunch of dollars, the problem was still the same! –
I then wrote to Yamaha Japan and they said to open the pressure release valve on the rear lower part of the motor below the CDI. When I unbolted the two 10mm bolts, the cover popped off with a bang!
Inside, the plunger and spring were caked in salt! A good wash out with “Salt Away” and I replaced the cover, spring and plunger and a new gasket and WHOOPEE! Problem solved in 10 minutes! I now have perfect water pressure! Hope this will help someone with the same problem to not spend hard earned money for nothing!
