I have a 2002 SX150TXRA that that is leaking oil from the power tilt. The seals are dry around the tops of the pistons, however oil is dripping from the bottom of the assembly. How hard is it to replace the "O" rings and seals. One person said they had to remove the engine from the boat? Can this be correct or is he trying to pull one over on me?

Not down there, probably will find it leaking up above that and running down.

loosen the tilt and trim caps BEFORE removing the unit.
then trim it up and set it on the tilt lock.
now carefully feed the trim motor leads back through the grommet.
remove the circlip from the upper tilt ram.
use a set of jumpers and attach one to the blue lead to ground, attach the other to the green lead to positive and run the tilt ram down a few inchs.
a jumper box or spare battery can be used.
at the bottom, remove one of the 12mm hex bolts and washer.
use a brass drift and drive out the lower pin.
tilt the unit aft and remove.
