excessive two cycle oil consumption

I am using an excessive amout of 2 cycle oil in my 1998 225hp outboard motor. Can you tell me how to correct the problem

is linkage hooked correctly ?

like JB123 said, check the linkage for proper assy... the link rod is bad about breaking and falling off, also on the older engines i have had to replace the mechanical oil pump due to the seal in the back of it leaking oil into the crankcase causing excessive oil consumption...
