  • 2000 100hp Tilt and Trim Stator cover

I am based in Australia, I have a F100 AET 4 stroke which I believe is identical to the F100XRY. The cover on the tilt and trim stator is badly corroded, the tilt and trim works fine.

I don't want to buy the whole assembly, just replace the cover, is it possible to buy just this part.

Any assistance would be greatly valued.

It is possible, but i recommend that you buy a complete engine and a new o-ring
It doesnt have to be Yamaha genuine parts.
    Usually a "non-original" is 30-40% cheaper.

Here in Sweden the cover is more expensive than the tiltmotor...(?!!)

I had the same problem few years ago on my Yam F100, 2001 model. I took down the cover (very easy, just 3 bolts) and thorogly sandblasted it. Then painted it with 3 layers rust protection paint and on the top an layer of the Yamaha blue color.

The reason I suspect for the corrosion was the Bracket mounted anode, that was almost consumed, and the rest was hidden by shells etc.

I can see on Boats.net, that this device is sold as "stator assembly", and has an price of 544$, and in my opinion is that incredibly much for that metal cylinder with just 2 magnets glued inside

thats cheap, in Sweden it costs 6-7000SEK, roughly 900-1000$!

actually, the bracket anode do little help against corrosion on the tilt motor.
and its a common problem to 10 year+ yammies..

2000 100hp Tilt and Trim Stator cover

If you look at the attached photo I think it is a bit past sandblasting, however it would be nice to know the thickness of the casing

2000 100hp Tilt and Trim Stator cover

In the event someone can help it appears to be a tilt assembly one as it has three screws that goes into a separate bottom flange whereas the assembly two incorporates the flange, that is however based on the us web site boats.net parts numbers for US models
