'05 115 4stroke Magneto/charging issues?

Earlier this summer I was killing house batteries, replaced the magneto which solved the problem. 5 months later we're having the same issues, replaced the battery with a new one & killed it. Motor's obviously not charging again?
Probably the magneto again which has me wondering why this motor went 6 yrs w/no charging problems & now twice in 1 summer?

Anyone run across a similar situation or have any suggestions?

when you say magneto, are you meaning the stator, if you are then you need to replace the voltage regulator also, a shorted or open rectifier/regulator will take out a stator,,,,

Voltage Regulator

Sorry, was going from memory.
It was the Voltage Regulator that was replaced & the symptoms are the same as before it was replaced earlier this summer.

and the same goes the other way, a shorted stator will take out a voltage regulator, i always try to quote both at the same time,, costs more but it all but eliminates other issues. Have you checked your stator properly..

Is it a fairly simple process?

measure the resistance for charge coil!

actually the lighting coil is what feeds rectifier/regulator
charge coils furnish voltage to ignition system

A service manual will help you a lot if you plan on working on it yourself
