2008 Yamaha F90 (about 250hrs) Engine was up when tilt/trim motor stop working. After removing the tilt motor find out that one of the brush was stuck. Cleaned both brushes, put back the motor and tested: motor runs in both directions but the piston doesn’t move up or down. Released the side screw to drop the engine down, try again but still tilt motor runs in both directions but the engine doesn’t move up or down. Any idea where's the problem?

Need to remove the trim motor and check that shaft connector between motor and pump is in place.

its actually very easy to miss the connector or it falls out of place.
not the first time I have seen it.
we call it either a self inflicted wound or a technician induced failure.
had a tech a few years back did did his first set of carbs on a mid 90s 250.
set everything up,cranked the engine.
it fired up ran about 30 seconds and died.
fuel running out the prop.
I asked him,did you check the orings on the fuel enrichment valves?
his reply, what orings.
