Yamaha Lower unit question

Hello,

Bought a lower unit from fleabay. Winds up I bought one for the wrong outboard.

The one I bought is for a 1997 3 cyl 40hp.

Does anyone know what years and hp this one will fit? I need to try to sell it to recoup the loss and get the correct one.

It will work on 1995-1997 40 and 50hp

40hp lower unit

i would like to know is that lower unit a short shaft.
