  • Clogged water outlet on Yamaha 250

How do you unclog the system that attaches to the small water outlet on a 250? I hooked up a garden hose with a small barb end attached to the rubber tube attached to the oulet. I get a small trickle of water from the lower unit. There is a lot of back pressure from the clog. Should I try compressed air?

Are you talking about the motor cooling tell-tale on the outside of the cowling, or maybe the speedometer pitot and rubber hose that runs up inside the motor leg?

The motor cooling tell tale. It is clogged further into the system than the initial small hose

Remove hose from fitting on cylinder head and probe with wire...may have a piece of sand, rust, etc. stuck in there...Good Luck!

          dunno.
without a model number I have no clue as of the at least 4 different versions of a 250 hp yamaha that has been built since about 1990.
