New Prop wont spin

I have a brand new 2012 Yamaha 20HP 4 Stroke. I am replacing the stock prop with the solas 4 blade prop. I used the web site to order the correct one. When installing it, the foot of the prop is very tight when inserted in the case of the motor. I can hardly turn it by hand. Any info would be helpful. I thought of sanding the prop a little to fit better. Or, should I just replace it?

make sure you have the correct thrust washer in front of the prop.
it goes on first then the prop.
the old one may be stuck in the old prop.

No, the prop washer never left the shaft. The tight fit made me have to tighten the castle nut more and more just to get the prop set so I could put the pin in.
