Hi all,
just purchased a 50 hp Yam 4 stroke with low hours for its age. Because of little use previously, it had a flat spot when giving it some acceleration, due I think to "varnishing". I blasted it with a high strength cleaner and when I took it out again it went like a rocket, no hesitance at all. However, it now misses a bit between 1k and 2k revs. Give it some throttle and no problem. Bugger, swapped one problem for another one! Thought it might have a bit of loose gunk still in there so took off the fuel filter to fill it with cleaner and run it for a while and there is a residual white slimy gunk in the filter. Not water and not a lot but I have no idea what it could be. Anybody have ideas on what I can do to a: get rid of the missing and b: what this white stuff could be?
thanks
