flashing F N R lights on throttle quadrant

I have dual Yamaha 250's on Stamas 31 with matching throttle in tower. The N (neutral) light stayed on even when battery off on both throttles, then the other day the F N and R lights are all blinking in sequence on both sides. I've looked everywhere and even talked to a dealer and still no answer to why they blink. The neutral light is green and the forward-reverse lights are red

They all blink together on starboard side then all on port side 6 times, then starboard only 2 times then port only 2 times then back again 6 and 6 etc

Any ideas?
