year nuber old yamaha 40BE

on the serialnumber plate is the "hidden" letter U stampt in...(on the left corner under)
wat year is the motor?? must be round the 1980's
there was an list with year letters posted once...
but the U was not displayed!

Neat website - but I am a little rusty on my "Dutch" - can you interpret for me?
Do they list all European Yamahas? By serial numbers or what? Were you able to get your model year?

the refered website is Swedisch!..not dutch...
even hard for me to understand!
my guesses are that it gives an quite accurat pickture on the european yamaha's..
mine for example = an 1978/9 modell..
a coupple of weeks ago i found an site in belgium
were all serial numbers were mentiont and productions all over the world...
sigh...i lost the information an was'nt able to track the site again! :-(
