I bought the C40PLRS, '94 model.
Weird, the model number says it has a 20" shaft.
My boat has a 20" transom and the motor sticks way below the bottom of the boat!
I put 2 pieces of 1x2 board, so I raised it 1.5" and the cavitation plate is still about an inch under the boat. I left it there, drilled the holes and mounted it.
It's a done deal now.
I measured the motor and I got 22". Hmmm.

Does anyone know if the motor will charge my battery?
If it does, what is the amp output?

That 40C has a charge rate of 6 Amps.

I'm guessing that 6 amps would be at WOT only?
I never run wide open and usually it's not real long runs to my spots.
Mostly on the *****ing motor after that.

6 Amps is specified at Wide Open Throttle, which should be in the 4500 to 5500 RPM range.
