Gear linkage Yamaha 4 stroke 225hp 2003 outboard

Hi

Can anyone help with some advice, I have a 225hp outboard which has a sticking gear lingage. I have had the housing changed and the cables by my local service agent, who assured me this was the problem. The fault has now returned afte only an hours or so use. Apparently I'm told the selection rod is ok and it may now be the rod bushes.

My local agent seems stuck on this and is not familier with what is needed. Does anyone have experiance of this or advice on how to change these

If you are talking the shift shaft bushing then powerhead would have to be removed to get shaft out, take cables loose from engine, check control box operation to see if sticking, and remove lower unit, shift linkage on engine by hand to see if it's sticking, shift gearcase by hand and check it.
