  • Yamaha Multi Function Tachometer display hard to see

    I have a Yamaha Multi-Function Tach......on a 90TRLZ a 2001 90 Hp 2 stroke
The tach has worked great until this past year.
The display that shows the RPMS is really faded, and the alarm indicators on the bottom of the display now have " black smears" on them, and I can't see them at all.

Looks like it has to be replaced? Opinions?? They are pricey..

    Thanks
    Dwight

Although replacement is the ideal thing to do, to temorarily fix it you can do several things. The can go to the automotive store and get the product that clears the plastic lenses in car headlights, use a fine rubbing compound or in the old days when my motorcycle gauges would do this I would use tooth paste ( not recommended)LOL. The best bet is the fine rubbbing compound.
