Looking for info on a part that is not fully descibed in catalogs. My '08 CC with '08 Yamaha 250 was poorly rigged by dealer - now out of business. Various service techs have indicated repair is major job, but I recently heard otherwise from fellow owner. On the lower cowling, the plastic wire cover was not properly secured to the grommet using factory fastner and nylon clamp. Instead, no fastner was used and a standard, metal hose clamp was. I constantly have to push the plastic cover back up to the grommet lip and re-tighten the clamp. I am reluctant to over tighten the clamp and restrict movement or do other damage. Though service providers have indicated that a proper fix is a major job, a fellow owner recently told me he believes the faster is a 2-piece (clip) that can be attached anytime without major work. When I look at the Yamaha catalogs and other resouces, I cannot tell whether the fastener is one piece and would require major job. If it is two pieces, I will be able to secure to grommet with appropriate nylon clamp without major work. Thanks for any insights.

Poorly rigged engine - fastner question

the original was a two piece held on with a tie strap.
did not work well with a plastic rigging hose.
there is a better one piece grommet but it requires derigging the engine to run the rigging through it.
on a difficulty scale of 1-10 its about a 4.
on the pain in the rear scale its about a 10.
