Tapping

I have twin 2001 SX 150Zs and one of them just started "tapping" sound at low RPM...but seem to run just fine...is this start of problem? What do I need to do to fix? Thanks much, Dave

take a solid metal rod to your ear and try to locate the noise.you will hear more noises with the lids off and most of the time it shouldnt be an issue, hopefully not wrist pins. whats your max operating rpms?

If you find that the tapping noise is coming from the area of the O2 sensor, you may want to inspect it and make sure the draw tube that goes between cylinder #1 and the O2 sensor isn't clogged up with carbon.

Hard to diagnose a tapping noise over the Internet, but its easy to check..
