Currently I have a yamaha 9.9 hp with remote steering and throttle on my boat. I would like to replace it with a 25 hp tiller motor. Can I leave the remote controls and steering cable on my boat and just attach them to the 25 hp motor? If so, can I put the tiller handle from the 25 hp onto the 9.9 hp motor? Thanks for the advice.

Would need the exact models of both motors to tell if rigging will work on 25 and would have to remove tiller handle and install a remote conversion kit to make it work with remote controls.

I put a 25 Yamaha 2 cycle/single carb, electric/tiller, on my boat and hooked up controls. The shift cable is no problem, as it attaches to the shift lever, as most motors do.
For the throtle, I jury rigged an external lever for cable attachment.
Then there is the problem of the choke. I don't have 10' arms and couldn't reach it.
I found a universal 12 volt solenoid, online for $10 =/- and made a bracket to mount to the carb, and a small linkage link, and it works great. This is second season, with no problems.
