  • 1996 T-50 TRLX Choke Issues

My T-50, 4 Stroke will engage the automatic choke for no reason, while the engine is at operating temperature. The motor has been giving me trouble all summer, appeared to be fuel and carb issues, the mechanic advised that he unplugged the automatic choke system, and currently the motor is running great, however, I enjoy duck hunting and I am wondering what will happen this winter when I require a choke. What parts should I look at replacing?
    Thanks in advance,
    Forrest

me thinks you need to find a tech that knows that system.
its funky but it works well untill something breaks.
its actually a two stage semi automatic set up that was way over complicated but worked well.

Yes Sir, I have come to the same conclusion on needing a new mechanic, however, being an engineer, (not a mechanic) I enjoy "trying" to fix things myself. I am into this mechanic for $750.00 and not planning on giving him any more. If you have any ideas of what will fix this choke issue, I really need some help, I want to plug it back in, it's just that, everytime it has been plugged in, I have had to paddle or call my son for a tow. Any ideas are appreciated.

      Kind Regards,
