Yamaha fuel management gauge and GPS

I have a yamaha fuel management gauge that I want to synch to my Garmin gps using an NMEA 0183 connection. I would like to know which wire colors should be connected to the gps receiver. Specifically, which one is to be connected to my gps nmea 0183 in port and what color is to be connected to the gps out port. Any help would be appreciated. Karl

unless it is command link or command link plus, Im pretty sure it is not nmea complient

I connected my Fuel Management via NMEA0183 to my GPS and it works well .
I used the original Yamaha adapter cable - which was damn expensive (!!) - and connected it to the blue NMEA cable of my Garmin 276C .
On the Garmin I still had to set the right port and that was it .
