  • 2000 Yamaha 40hp 2stroke water cooling system

i have a 2000 40hp 2stroke yamaha outboard. water comes out of the pee hole in a steady stream. Isnt it supposed to have some water comming out of exhaust ports on back of engine below engine block? I removed the thermostat and it still does not blow hardly any water out of this exhaust, just a slight mist.

How are you testing it? In a barrel, on muffs or on the boat in the water?

I wouldn't be to concerned. It must not be over heating or you would have had other issues like alarms and going into slow mode. Some models put more water out of those holes than others. You do want to make sure your alarms are working properly.

I worried about my C40TLRX at first because it did not put any water out of the idle exhaust ports like my older Joh/rude when running not even a mist.
but it has been running strong for a couple of years with no problems.

but like they said make sure alarm system works properly
