overheat alarms

Hi everyone;
How d I test the overheat alarms on a 1999 200 hp SWS?
How do i know the sensor is working properly?

Disconnect pink wire going to temp sensor and touch pink wire to ground with key on buzzer should sound. Can put temp sensor in water, connect ohm meter to sensor leads and heat water up until reaches 183-194 degrees to trip sensor and should have continuity on meter.
