    Been working on an overheat alarm at a Higher RPM
    Can I run without a thermostat? for a temporary time
    Have heard diff "theories"

    Check/replace water pump, thermostat and pressure control valve...running without thermostat is not recommended....that's about it!

      you can run without the thermostat, but your motor will run too cold, and that is not your problem, you have some corrosion build up in your water passages, let me guess, it only over heats over 4,00 RPM right?

        It will cause cold spots and hot spots in motor just like any other water cooled motor, make sure stat is working properly and keep it in like it was designed.

          This sounds like my problem also, what are some ways to clear the rust or build up out of the passages?
