not sure what I'm talking about, please look at the picture.
salt water has gotten in there and mix with the grease and end up seize the steering, (not completely but very very hard).
now to fix it had to take the whole engine out and pull outboard away from bracket and clean out all the junks. and then my mechanic fitted it with a 'cap' as show in picture.
he called it a 'Wiper' that will just wipe the grease on the shaft everytime u steer, but will NOT keep the water out. i check the wiper and it is not very tight. it is keeping the grease in but not 100%. just wondering is there any chance i can buy a similar kind of 'CAP' can actually keeps the water out and keeps the grease in.?
