Command Link Fuel Gauge Question

Hello everyone
I recently bought a square command link fuel management gauge and I already have everything to hook it up except the fuel sending unit from the fuel tank. My question is do I need a yamaha fuel tank sending unit or will any unit work. Not sure because of the fuel management option on the gauge and because it is digital instead of analog.
