  • gas in oil

Hey guys I have a 2005 f90. I checked the oil and noticed it was full of gas. I have removed the fuel pump and dissasembled/inspected it. I can see no rips or tears in the diaphram but it looks like gas is coming through where the plunger is. Anybody(Boats.net) have any ideas or should i buy a new fuel pump? Thanks in advance

there are only a couple of ways fuel can get into the oil, the most common is the fuel pump, i would just replace it since you already have it off.

Most common problem with gas in oil on 4strokes is a bad thermostat-replace it.

motor not propped properly can lug motor and cause making oil as does lots of *****ing (low RPM) operation. 4 strokes like to run in upper RPMs and warm up oil and rest of motor
