Just to add to this post. Have been having trouble with the temp alarm coming on with my 1989 yamaha 115. Alarm would come on over 3000 RPM. Followed CentralTexas's guide with RYDLYME . Flushed for 4 hours with 50/50 solution. Worked like a charm !! A lot of sand grit and scum was flushed out. Now runs perfectly . Nice post CentralTexas. I can go fishing again now !!!!

I don't come back to the forum often. I was surprised to see this thread back up. I'm glad it helped you.

Great instructions. Looks like good stuff. I plan on doing the same to my engine. Also found some written instructions

Central Texas, did you use the marine or standard Rydlyme?

You are asking this from someone that last posted 6 months ago, so do not expect a quick reply from them if ever.
Kind of why it is not a good idea to post on old threads

Seems that more than a few people have had really good luck with this stuff. If I have to pull the heads I will but if this saves me from breaking bolts off in a 26 year old motor it seems like it is worth a try.
