Hello all,
I have an 89 two stroke 115 v4, etlf model. Itll start but then wont run without choke. Then after choking it out to keep it going ,as soon as i let go of the choke she starts to die. After a while of this , fuel starts to drip out while turning over. Finally had to bring her back in at idle, clicking the choke swith every second or two to get me back to the dock. Checked spark with a tester and the spark was orange, not blue, so i think that might be part of it. This was the maiden voyage of a "new to me" boat , and i did rebuild the carbs and set float levels after it had sat for three years without running. Maybe my screw settings?? I didnt think to clean out the pick up tube in the gas tank.doh! Maybe gummed up? It had fuel in it for the three years but i just drained it and refilled with new thinking that would be good enough. How would a person check to see if spark is right and strong enough? Any other suggestions would be great too. Don't want to put the kids in it til she's right. Want to be as safe as possible. Many thanks in advance
