  • yamaha crankshaft 69J versus 6P2 yam.225hp 4-stroke

hi there, I have a yamaha 200hp 4-stroke outboard with date 05/04 on the decal.the crankspline stripped out,and now I am confused on the different cranks there are available. I can buy a 6P2 crank locally at the dealer(he tells me the 6P2 will fit and work) ,,but as far as I see I need a 69J crankshaft. are the crankshafts interchangeable??
if there is a difference, what is it? I read on the internet that the 200-225 and 250's are the same engine??
really hope someone has an answer.
    cheers

I don't see where they would interchange.

      hello there,
you mean,to your opinion,it should fit??
I am checking out your yamaha parts microfiches, and I also see the difference
      in the partnumber.
according to yamaha dealer here,it should fit and work.
      to your opinion,it should work?
      regards

No I'm saying the two part numbers don't interchange or supersede to each other but not sure what the difference is in them.
