Can start switch get wet?

Since my boat has dual stations (upper on tower and lower on console) there is a push-to-start/stop switching arrangement on the upper, and it's mounted flush and horizontal. Is it OK for it to be out in the open and get rained on?

The start/stop buttons have rubber boots, the sun does deteriorate the rubber over time but other than that hold up good.
