Key Switch 1998 115

Think my Key Switch died. Last 2 weeks had to find the "sweet spot " to fire the motor. The other day turned the key nothing. Had to jump from battery to starter.
The motor is on a 17 Mako. Key, Buzzer, Choke mounted on the console.
Any thoughts? Key Switch? Something else downstream?

Is there a Yamaha part #/Who's got em / How much for a key switch ?

have to check to see if neutral safety switch or the key switch is the problem, but if playing with key switch helped before my bet is on key switch. easy to test with a meter, but need to open up the controls to get to everything to test.
any Yamaha dealer should have the switch or you can order on line

Neutral safety ok. Can start motor with ignition on hot wiring starter with jumper cable.

Yamaha dealers need part #. Another dealer said there are a different styles. Cost $210.00

You have to jump to the the starter?
have you tried jumping the start relay to see if it will pick up starter?

Yea I put the + on the + lug on the side of the starter

maybe you have a relay problem
