1989 30 hp alarm problem

It originally only went off periodically when i was full out ,and now it is starting to do it *****ing once in a while.Oil is full and it doesnt seem to be overheating.I have to turn the key off and wait till the alarm stops.Then it may happen again right away or not Wheres a good starting point to help me solve this

Maybe remove/inspect/replace thermostat and pressure control valve, either of which may be sticking due to mineral/corrosion deposits. Assuming your water pump has been inspected/replaced sometime in recent years? Good Luck!
