  • Bleeding trim pump

I removed the PT/T pump. I put the new motor and need to bleed the unit. The manual states while it is out of the bracket push all the rods down (I guess by hand it doesn't state) put the unit on its side and fill the reservoir. connect the leads to a battery and make the unit power up and down several times while periodically checking fluid level. It never mentions a bleeder valve. Does it bLeed automatically. I guess I am asking if there is a bleeder valve? If so where is it? If not how is the air getting out? Just a little confused.

    Thanks Tom

There is no bleeder valve, idealy would be to put the unit back in the bracket, with the engine up on the trailer lock, fill the resevoir, while filling the resevoir hold the up button on the swtich so it will suck in the fluid and fill the system. once it lifts the engine off the locks let go of the switch, continue filling till the fluid comes out of the fill hole then stop.put the fill plug back in. from here I release the lock and loosen the manual valve and slowly let the engine go down. this will push the air out of the system. once it is all the way down close the manual valve and hit the up switch to raise the engine, once at the top recheck the fluid level. then you can run it up and down a couple of times. it should be ok .
