  • 2006 25hp ESH -- Shift Linkage Repair and Adjustment

I need help...it appears my shift linkage rod has pulled out from the black plastic piece inside the gear selector. How do i get the shift linkage rod to screw back into the piece inside the gear shifter?

This is a two part question as i am also trying to figure out how to adjust the shift linkage. How do you adjust the shift linkage...the reason i ask is because the reverse tilt lock is stuck in the down position and will no disengage when i want to put the motor up. It catches over the tilt stopper pin and wont disengage to take the motor up. I have tried everything (including pulling the shift linkage rod out of the black piece inside the gear selector....see top question. LOL.

Any insight into the two questions would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks in advance.!!!!

As far as the other question...part 25 is connected..."the hook" but when you change gears from neutral to forward to or reverse it doesnt move...the shaft inside the cirlce of the hook moves but nothing else.... should the actual hook move?

Probably have to remove number 35 and put end with bend it in on first then install other end.
The hook on end of that wire should be on shift shaft below the union nut which pulls down on locking mechanism.
