Hi, I have an electric start Yam 40 hp im guessing it 81/83 circa. I have just acquired this outboard and need to know how to wire up. I know the main battery neg and pos. I was told the auto choke wires go on a rocker switch? and also a switch to start..my questions are ..how do i turn the engine off? also a wiring diagram would be great if anyone can help.. sorry for dumb questions I am very new to boating..
the engine says ..6E9 its a long shaft with electric start and manual tilt. Auto lube....many thanks.

That model is not sold here in USA and we don't have any information on it, the choke on US models is a prime start system and does require a switch to operate, it's an auto choke system. The white wire in main harness is ignition circuit which is grounded through ignition switch to shut engine off and brown wire is starter circuit.
