70eltg to a 90eltg

Hi all, I was told that I can convert my 1988 70eltg to a 90 by simply changing the carbs, is this true? If not is there a way to do it? Looking to get a little more HP out of my 70. Thanks!!

We don't try to alter horsepower but those are two different blocks and probably can't be done.

Oh I see that now didn't notice the 1 different number 6h1 and 6h3, ok thatnks

Do you happen to know if the 6H1 and 6H3 powerheads are interchangable? I know where there is a 90 with a trashed lower unit
