02 Cobia Coastal Deck Rub Rail Help

I want to replace the rub rail on my 02 Cobia Coastal Deck. Not sure what is on it. Looks like from what I've seen I'v got to cut a section of it off to match it up with what's on it. The original looks like a semi-rigid insert in a channel. I need to replace the whole thing as the channel is damaged too. What's the best rub rail for the money if I'm going to spend the hours doing it? Stainless, rigid vinyl, flex?
