  • FUEL MANAGEMENT INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS NEEDED

I purchased a yamaha fuel management System, for a single motor, and need installation instructions, does anyone have them or know where I can down load them?

quite easy, install gauge, you should have to hook into the other gauge harness for power/grounds and blue wire for lights. hook harness to gauge and sensor, and install fuel lines thru sensor.

Thanks JB, It doesnt look like the harness will plug into the gauge anywhere
There are 2 black plugs, and one white on the harness, plus I have a short wire that has a very small white plug on it, , and there is a wire in the bag that has two long screws, Lots of variables on this, was hoping to find a step by step or at least a parts break down and wireing Diagram

you might find it here on this site in the parts/accessories for sale....or yamaha-motor.com> parts. my twin application was very basic altho i had to extend the port harness to the sensor.like all the yamahas ive owned, plug n play, your new gauge must have some extras ive not seen.

It depends on which FMM you have ( Fuel and speed combo gauge or fuel management gauge without speedometer). There are three wire harness's one with square connector connects to fuel sensors, one with round connector connects to GPS, if you are going to use GPS for speed signal to FMM then leave disconnected. The other wires depend on which gauge you have. FMM/Speedo connect red, yellow, blue, and black leads to gauge wire harness off of key switch( red 12 volts, yellow is key on 12volts, black is ground, and blue is backlights in gauge) and the white wire connects to fuel level sensor in fuel tank. The rubber hose connects to back of gauge and to the speedo pickup on engine. The FMM gauge without speedo connects to gauge harness(red, yellow, black and blue) the same except it has a green that connects to starboard tachometer and the green/white wire connects port tach.Set the dip switch's in back of gauge using the card that came with gauge. The harness with round connector on this gauge has to be connected to Yamaha speedo or GPS unit.

            Boats.net, Thanks
I have the gauge without the speedo
The gauge has a blue and black wire coming out the side separate from the wires coming out the center, which has a white plug which appears to plug into the harness. THen there are green, black, green with white, yellow and red. and there is also a black wire with a gold plug on the end of it, which has an adapter in the kit that plugs into it with a tiny white plug on the end of that.
Now the other end of the harness has two round plugs one with a green and on with red tape on it, I assume they are for the sensors. and the one that confuses me, there is another wire with a white with red stripe and a double black together, thought this might be for a water separator sensor?
I dont want to wire anything backward and burn out something.
            THANKS for all the help
            John

Yamaha Fuel Management Instructions Needed (Dual)

I am in need of rigging instructions for a Yamaha Fuel Management Syetem. My system stopped working and I am trying to troubleshoot it. I had 2001 Yamaha 250Hp OX66 on my Contender and just repowered with new F-250's. wires were unhooked and I can't figure it out.

              Thanks,
              Capt. Matt
