Help to interperet year of manufacture

Hi, can anyone please assist with interpreting the attached year of manufacture which is stated as (09/05) on a 225HP Yamaha 4-stroke purchased in USA. Does this mean Sept 2005 or May 2009

Unfortunately I do not have a pic of the actual serial/model number but I have asked the dealer to fwd it to me.
