2002 115 4 Stroke: Too Many Hours?

I am looking at buying a boat that has twin 2002 115 4 Strokes. Both have 1500 hours on them. Can anyone tell me if these engines are worth considering or am I asking for trouble. The boat was used by a guide so I imagine he took good care of them, at least in the beginning. Before I have a mechanic test them I wanted to see if anyone had thoughts about these engines with this many hours. Thank you.

I was told by a captain once that he keeps his 4 strokes for 5000 hours.

Interesting, thanks. I saw just now that the CG run theirs to 3000 hrs so I guess 1500 wouldn't necessarily be too high...
