I am trying to pull the steering cable out of the engine. it will not pull out by hand so i tapped it out 90% of the way, now the steering cable is jammed against the transom and all the tapping in the world will not move the cable right now. I think my next step is to cut the cable to relieve the jam. Please any thoughts on this? Now looking ahead i wonder how hard it will be then to get the new one in if its directed the same way! Has anyone done this replacement and had to lift the engine?
