  • Yamaha 40hp 2 stroke 1996 with electric start: Con*****er advice.

    Hello,

First time poster seeking advice please.

I recently bought a Yamaha 40hp 2 stroke outboard with electric start. I think it's from around 1996. I wanted to get it hooked up to my boat but it didn't come with a con*****er. Is a Yamaha 703 con*****er compatible and if it is, what other cables am I going to need to get it all connected up?

    All advice appreciated.

You didn't list the model number, it could have a push to open throttle or a pull to open throttle linkage on motor, look at throttle linkage and see requires the cable to push to fulley open throttle on engine. If does then use 703-48207-17-10 control box, if need a pull to open then will have to order same control box and convert using 703-48261-11-00 throttle mechanism
Will need two MAR-CABLE-xx-SC(replace xx with cable length needed) control cables.

Here it is. Its in pretty rough shape and very rusted on the clamp that will connect to the boat.
