  • Fuel pump issue I think

First off let me say that this is one great site. I dig through pages of posts to gain insight into issues I've had and found solutions. Haven't had to ask an questions until now !

My 2005 F40 Jet 4 stroke wouldn't run for crap after sitting for 2 years. Recently I cleaned all 3 carbs. All went well and now it starts about as easy as it did new, idles perfect and has perfect top end. Only issue it has is the mid RPM range/power ! It bogs a bit while accelerating it's way to a smooth top end and when decelerating from full throttle to idle or close to, it will stall out. If I crank the throttle a couple times while decelerating it will chock a bit and stay running before catching its breath and running just fine at a lower RPM.

Also the fuel primer ball goes a bit limp on me as well and the fuel filter always has air in it. Happens weather it's running or sitting. If I pump the primer ball during deceleration it seems to help issues a lot. I'm thinking I have a fuel pump issue. What say all the experts here ?

I appreciate your time reading this post, thank you.

could be, however the primer and the filter are both on the suction side.
    neither will stay full.
sounds like the carbs will be apart again.
the fuel pump is esily rebuilt at the same time.
