Aquired a little 4 HP 2 stroke (1988), cleaned carb, no start. Compression check, three pulls of the starter rope, W.O.T. and only 60 psi. Seems too low? Any one know what is acceptable?
squirt a little oil into the spark plug oil, turn it over a few times and then check compression again.
Remove air intake cover, make sure choke is working,keep choke open, squirt a little fuel in carb when trying to start. If it starts, carb problem. Very tiny orfices in there-plug up easily.
