So I have a 2001 tlrz60 2 stroke. I bought it used from a non Yamaha dealer for only $2100. A previous owner switched it from remote to tiller. Outside of not starting "like a Yamaha" it runs excellent. Only issue is the cold starting. Cranks for a while before it fires. After that it runs great and starts quick for the rest of the day. My concern is this is going to be my Northern Illinois waterfowl hunting boat and I don't want to be dealing with long cranking and worrying about my battery. So I have been looking into this "prime start system" and I believe that my engine does not have such a thing on it. Pulled the front cover/intake off the carbs today to have a looksee and saw nothing else attached to the carbs. So my question is could someone post some pics or tell me what I'm looking for so I don't feel so lost? Thanks i'm new to Yamaha outboards and if I can solve this I will be VERY HAPPY with it.
