V6 Damper Mount 150 hp 2 stroke (reusability)

Question: How can you tell (visual inspection only) if dampers are in good condition?

SITUATION: I have a pair of used dampers (upper & lower) that present minor hair line cracks on at the rubbers base nut side of damper bolt.


Yamaha 150 ETXF 2 stroke
I have twin engines that are undergoing midsection repair (shift sahft) rerplacement and would like to keep cost down but staying within the reuseability guidelines / industry practice.

I am familiar with the damper test procedures while installed on outboard but dampers in question are stand alone part;not on engines.

If rubber is cracked may not hold up too long, it would be your call if you think they are ok.
