  • Difference in tachs

    Hello,

I am replacing the stock speedo and tach on my boat. I have an 2012 F150 and been looking at the Command Link® Digital and the Digital Multifunction Gauges. Costs are close to the same. Functions are close to the same. What is the main difference. thanks.

the standard digital package, tach and speed, will display trim, fuel, batt, speed engine RPM and a few other functions.
the square command link will display about 32 engine and hull paremeters and the speedometer will display fuel burn total fuel burned and a few other neet things.
other than command link is awkward and not intuitive to use it works very well.
my money would be on command link or command link plus.
my 07 F150 has the 2 square command link package.

I was told during a recent inquiry that the Command Link Plus does not work on a November 2010 F150 and I believe the 2012's are the same. Sad, too, because that is one sharp looking display and appears much more user friendly - according to my scan of the operation manual. And I do believe the Command Link are a bit funky to operate and the display looks outdated, especially considering the cost - but I don't know of a better alternative and the engine monitoring info is important in my opinion.

Command Link(square and round gauges) will work on 2006 and newer F150 motors. The Command Link Plus color display wont work on the F150 engines.
